about

I recorded this album in the same week I released Domestic Bliss, which was extremely stressful and a very stupid thing to do.

I thought These Things Take Time was going to be the "big hit" from this album, hence its placement as the lead track. But the most popular song ended up being the ridiculous Fluorescent Jacket. Clearly, I still don't know my audience.

My favourite moment on the whole album is when I say "down in the dumps" on Ice Cream Machine and it's matched by a tight little drum roll. It took fucking forever took get that right and no one ever mentions it.

Words and music: Lewis Young
Except: 'These Things Take Time' additional vocals by Nicki, Holly and Margot
'Dream Life' words by Holly Mae
Mixed and mastered by Jonny Hooker at Young Thugs Studios
Cover photo: Tarquin Clark
